At Virtetic we believe the limb loss journey should be one of hope, confidence, and limitless potential
The journey to recovery from limb loss is long and uncertain, causing up to 40% prosthesis abandonment rates and 60% phantom limb pain rates
We believe the limb loss journey should be one of hope, confidence, and limitless potential
We do this by transforming the recovery experience with a supportive virtual environment, offering immediate access to physical and mental training that fosters confidence and unlocks limitless potential
Virtetic originated at the University of Melbourne's Human-Robotics Laboratory (2016-2020), where we performed the research that sparked our virtual reality solution for prosthesis use training
With support from our clinical advisors and the research translation program at the university (TRAM), we validated that our technology could bring significant benefits to the prosthetics community
Since then, we have taken part in multiple accelerator and commercialisation programs (TRAM, Medtech Actuator, ANDHealth, Remarkable) to help us bring our virtual reality interventions to the prosthetics community
We have worked with people living with limb loss, clinicians, and industry leaders in the design and development of our virtual reality technology and interventions
And we have launched our first virtual reality intervention in the Australian market
